International Department Foreign English Teachers in cooperation with Primary English Teachers held a meeting on December 2, 2014. Mr. Shao Zhongde, the school principal also joined the meeting.

    English teachers discussed on students’ progress in oral English. Foreign teachers gave updates of every grade level’s oral English to primary teachers.  In addition, teachers also addressed the following areas: teaching strategies that best serve primary students where they can practice their oral English more, learning strategies of students that need to develop, how teachers can handle the difficulties/issues in the classroom.

    Moreover, Mr. Shao in his speech expressed his thanks to teachers and hoped to enhance cooperation and communication among teachers to better understand each other. He further added that though teachers have different cultural background, come from different countries, have different skin color but as teachers, have the same goal that is to provide quality education and prepare students to become global citizens.

    The meeting in general was a success. In the future, more and more seminars will be held, which enhance professional qualities of teachers and promote exchange and communication between foreign teachers and Chinese teachers.

    2014年12月2日国际部外籍教师教研组召开了教研会议，此次会议特邀了小学英语教师参加，邵忠德校长也参加了此次会议。

    教师们就学生们在英语口语方面的学习进程展开了讨论。外籍教师向中方教师介绍了目前各学段学生的英语口语水平。此外，教师们也共同讨论了以下几点问题：怎样给学生提供更好的练习口语的教学策略，怎样改善学生的学习策略，怎样处理外籍教师在课堂上遇到的问题。

    邵忠德校长在他的演讲中表达了他对外籍教师的感谢之情，并希望中外双方老师能加强合作，经常沟通，互相理解。他进一步补充说：尽管你们来自不同的的国家，拥有不同的肤色、不同的文化背景，但作为老师，你们有着相同的目标：为学生提供优质的教育并培养他们成为世界公民。

    总体上来说，此次会议是成功的。以后，我们还将继续深入开展类似的教研会，切实提高教师专业素养，加强外籍教师与全校教师之间的联系。
